GS1 Innovation Café

Sustainability has become a key driver for - profitable - business for consumers, regulators and trading partners. GS1 is now starting a journey with companies rethinking and restructuring their operating models, proving how open and standardized data will be the fundamentals for a new way to deliver a sustainable performance. The Pioneer project HolyGrail 2.0 researches how digital watermarking technology can be used in combination with GS1 standards to better recognise and sort plastic packaging in waste processing. In this way, plastic recycling becomes a lot more intelligent and efficient.
